Artist Statement
Daniel Evanko is a New York based Interdisciplinary Installation Artist utilizing a wide variety of mediums to explore connectivity in an ever increasingly divisive world. Having been a musician his entire life, a sonic element takes center stage in most of his work, always coupled with an “artifact” or physical sculptural element from which the sound originates or is enhanced. His process begins with a clinical exploration of a phenomenon or scientific inquiry, through which process of creating a greater conceptual entity is derived. Usually focusing around the notion of connectivity between a society growing ever distant, his experiential installations create a sense of wonder in an order to bridge the gap between an intangible connective force and the tangible reality we as a society exist in.
