Chao Chi Chiu

Chiu, Chao Chi (邱肇極) is a Master’s candidate at the Institute of Fine Arts, NYU with an interest in early modern art, Japanese art, and South Asian art. He holds a M.A in social science from University of Chicago, with his thesis focused on Taiwanese landscape art and cultural identity during Japanese occupation, and a B.A in archaeological-anthropology from University of California, San Diego. Prior to receiving his M.A, he has also interned in archaeological post-excavation analysis at AOC archaeology in Scotland. His research interests include cross-cultural exchange, cultural imperialism, and modernism. In the 2017-2018 season of the NYU Curatorial Collaborative, Chao Chi co-curated the 5 artist group exhibition P r e c a r i o u s with fellow curators, Emily Rose Shoyer and Samantha H Rowe.
