Sam Allen is a first year Ph.D. candidate at the Institute of Fine Arts, focusing on portraiture and images of the body in modern and contemporary photography. A graduate of Brown University with a B.A. in Literary Arts, he has held internships at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and the Chinati Foundation in Marfa, TX. More recently, he has worked as a sales assistant at Pace Gallery and registrar and studio manager at Mickalene Thomas Studio, in which roles he provided key administrative support to more than a dozen exhibitions at American and international venues.
