Elijah Angelo Chavez is an interdisciplinary artist from Albuquerque, New Mexico. They are pursuing a Bachelor in Fine Arts from New York University with a minor in Public Policy. With a practice based in installation and sculpture, their practice spans painting, ceramics, glass, photography, video, and printmaking. They have collaborated on public art projects through Working Classroom and Harwood Art Center. Chavez’s work strives to show the collective and revolutionary power of art in a globalized society. Their work in “home/bound” commemorates familial and religious origins, while representing the artist’s queerness. This exhibition is dedicated to the marginalized communities who have lost and found home
