Brian Bentley

Brian Bentley is an Art History PhD student studying modern and contemporary art of the Americas, with a focus on post-war Brazil. From 2013-2015 he was Curatorial Assistant at the Brooklyn Museum for the European, Pre-Columbian and Native American collections. He holds an M.A. in Art History from the Institute of Fine Arts, NYU and a B.A. honours in Art History from McGill University. Bentley has has worked in the curatorial department of El Museo del Barrio, conducted research for MoMA’s International Program, contributed to the catalog for the exhibition Paulo Bruscky: Artist Books and Films, 1970-2013, and helped research and edit On Curating II, a forthcoming volume of interviews with 14 international curators by Carolee Thea.

BENTLEY

In the 2015-2016 season of the NYU Curatorial Collaborative, Bentley co-curated the nine artist group exhibition, Intimate Matters with fellow curators, Angel Jiang and Sarah B. Vogelman.
